The deceased Shoal Bay Lodge had 14 very small separate guest rooms. The new Lodge will have four giant suites. Built upon the same foundation as the old, the new lodge will boast deluxe accommodation along with a great room and Pub deserving of the Shoal Bay location. In addition to the new 6,000-sq/ft lodge building will be 2 or more individual guest cottages along the waterfront.
These "Cottages" will be completely self-sufficient and connected to the main lodge via boardwalks that weave through the cedars of the old town-site. The first of these cottages is up and temporarily operating as the pub and café, and the second is to be completed by the first of June.
This second or “Hillside Cottage” has spectacular views of Shoal Bay and the mountains of mainland Canada. The “Hillside Cottage” will have a main floor bedroom with double bed, upstairs loft with up to three singles as well as a small sofa bed in the living area. The cottages are designed with the family or small group in mind, having kitchenette type facilities. There will be a small refrigerator, a cook top, and microwave in each. Any groceries will need to be brought in by the guests, as there are no operating shops in Shoal Bay. Guests are welcome to take any meals that they do not wish to prepare themselves in the Pub. Meals can also be prepared by Lodge staff and served in the “Hillside Cottage”.
Rates for the new Hillside Cottage will vary depending on the needs of the guests. The cottage can be rented in an all-inclusive format; all meals will be provided, there will be beer and snacks in the fridge, and professionally guided fishing every morning. Family members will be picked up at the Shoal Bay dock by the “Eagle Eyed Adventures” boat for thrilling whale and bear watching. (Adventure tours are available most but not every day) Kayaks as well as small boats and fishing tackle will be available at the users own risk. There are also good fishing opportunities directly from the Shoal Bay dock. The trails are always open for everyone to enjoy. All-inclusive rates will be given upon request.
A professional fishing guide will be available at extra cost. Interested parties are encouraged to email us and discuss individual needs and subsequent special rates.
